Social Experiments is about fraught support and the three large sculptures anchor the action. On the surface it represents an odd dynamic: emotional women and municipal space. A conversation that doesn’t quite land right, intimate and confused. On a deeper level, it’s a surreal study of trauma showing up relationally.
SET Woolwich is an early ‘60s tower block awaiting development, previously occupied by Greenwich Council & HMRC. Temporarily it was artist studios, during a residency there, my representations of women in situations of emotional friction collided with the long-abandoned building, the Adult Services sign still hanging in the corridor…
Made with Marta Valverde at Riverside House, with thanks to Leah Valverde and SET Woolwich.
A five minute edit of the work in an edition of 10, with only three released currently:
Edition 1- Sold
Edition 2 and 3 - Available.
